Jean Hare
Jean Hare has lived most all her life in Northern Nevada and has a love for the desert scenery the Sierras have to offer. Always an artist at heart, Jean first realized her interest in art while attending art classes in high school. The classes served to pique her interest in many aspects of art media.
It wasn’t until many years later after her children had grown and her work eased that she was able to pursue classes in the medium that she enjoys the most – watercolor. She started studying watercolor in 1997 and now paints every time she gets the chance.
A lover of the outdoors and an avid hiker, Jean has found inspiration for her work in God’s creation. Her art is a reflection of her love of His handiwork. Jean is passionate about her work, “I find capturing the beauty of God’s creation in my art to be fulfilling. I paint for the joy of it.”
As a member of the Sierra Watercolor Society her work has appeared in galleries such as the Riverside Gallery; Silver State Gallery; and Amaranth Gallery; the last four years at the Reno Balloon Races; the Art and Wine Festival in Gardnerville; and Starving Artists.
